Update! Advanced Cargo Information Declaration

The customers journey with us is our upmost important thing, it has to be a positive experience from point A to point B! So to make things easier for you, we wanted to update you on the Advanced Cargo Information Declaration (ACID) Export Shipments Destined to Egyptian Ports.

These requirements now that that, from October 1, 2021, the ACID filing for all cargos loading at the origin Port of Load has been enforced by the government of Egypt. This explains that, 48 hours prior to shipping from the exporting country, those importing the cargo that is going to any Egyptian ports now need to file specific shipment data with the Egyptian authorities.

All we are asking is that at the time of booking placement, you provide their ACID number to comply with these new requirements. Once the ACID information is given and then been verified, we will supply a confirmed booking. How to get these verifications? It’s simple, send a copy of the ACID email verification receipt to the booking desk.

To comply with these new regulations, it is now required that all shipping instructions contain the following details:

   •   ACID number (19 digit unique identifier)
   •   Egyptian importer Tax ID (9 digit identifier which will be issued by the Egyptian Tax Authority)
   •   The HS commodity code (as used for the filing)
   •   Exporter Identification number (the Nafeza system relies on 3 elements to identify the exporter as follows…

Two letter code (ISO-3166-1) which represents the country where the exporter (shipper) is registered to

The exporter identification number which is issued by the relevant authority

The type of identification number which represents the VAT or Registration number

Now… if the ACID has not been verified we won’t be able to load any Egyptian cargo onto the vessels, where required ACID data is not included on the documentation instructions. We also can’t accept any responsibilities or extra costs if there is any delayed time to cargos due to being refused loading, or if cargo is denied entry into Egypt for noncompliance of these regulations.
